Having big feelings is normal, but kids need practice and tools for working through their emotions. These “Big Feelings” cards will offer your children a variety of options for using their bodies to process unhappy feelings in a healthy way.
Allowing your child an outlet to express their anger does a number of positive things:
Helps them to recognize the feelings in their body.
Allows them to feel respected and understood rather than frustrated and closed off.
Prevents shame when their parent is offering a solution.
Offers a tactile way to work through their anger rather than acting out, learning to stuff it down, or becoming numb.
These cards can be used by a variety of ages (I actually employ many of these strategies myself!) But they are especially helpful for kids who struggle to verbalize how they’re feeling.
This order includes a set of 12 4x4 inch cards, in both a PDF and PNG format. If you’d like to view the cards on your digital device, simply save the PNG files to your device. If you want to print the cards, you can use either the PDF or PNG file. Due to the nature of printing, the color of printed cards may not look the exact same as the digital cards.
* I am not a therapist or a doctor. I'm a mom of six, who's had a lot of experience learning to deal with my own big feelings and helping my little ones deal with theirs.
